1.MSTDM PRO Latest Version 2.0.6 2.Mach R3.043.066 3.Windows XP 4. Shuttle pro plug in This occured when i updated to the current version and updated MACH to the R3.043.066.
I have the pulse indicated in the hardware and it does go on and off with the trigger.
For some reason it does not show in the R.P.M. Dro there is nothing there , it will flash it if you overide your spindle speed percent and then vanish, it is gone.

Hum, I'll go retest this -
What is your motion device? Parallel Port or Smooth Stepper or?

Hi, It appears that some more sleuthing may be in order...
I tested this combo: 1) Mach 3.43.66 2) MSM 2.0.6 3) parallel port 4) I don't have a shuttle pro, so I can't test with shuttle pro plug-in with the shuttle pro.
With that combination the RPM DRO on the run page (the index input signal) shows the spindle RPM.
The only variable I see at the moment is the shuttle plug in... that seems a long shot, but it may be worth deleting the shuttle plug in to see if that brings back the RPM DRO for you (I don't really expect to matter but you never know until it's tried).
What version of mach and MSM did you have before shifting to mach 3.43.66 + MSM 2.0.6?
When you installed mach, did you re-install the parallel port plug driver (the driver should "match" the installed mach version)? Sometimes the driver does not get updated by the mach install. The driver version can be found by running drivertest (it's in the mach dir, run when mach is not running). My fresh install of mach 3.43.66 shows the PP driver as version 601.

Hi Dave thank's for looking into this,i doubt that shuttle pro is the problem either.
I had the previous version of MSM that was available and the version of MACH that was required for it.
As i remember i just updated my membership and then downloaded the current version 's .
I had the previous available version ,i just checked and there was a new version available so i updated . I did nothing with the drivers from mach, i will look into the driver matter and the shuttle pro uninstall tomorrow .
I will report back after further testing , Thank's

Another thought - mach only shows the RPM in the DRO when the spindle is started via M3 or M4. Usually that does not matter since most folks use M3 to turn on the spindle etc (and hte MSM buttons do M3/M4 when they are clicked).
But if you have a manual way to turn on your spindle without using M3/M4, mach won't show the ROM unless mach thinks the spindle is running...

Hi Dave ,the driver was the problem all is well now i went back to my old install of MSM and MACH and it started working again.
I ran the driver test and they did match correctly .066 version of MACH. Mach's drivers can be kind of wonky some times so iam going to stay were i am for now.
If at a later date i need to change for some reason i will, but mine works fine with the older version's.
I read somewhere in here about lathe problems and Mach , i am in the process of converting a lathe over to cnc and i am wondering what version of Mach would be the best for lathe at this point?
I also saw that you are working on a lathe program is this true?
Thank's Dusty

If at a later date i need to change for some reason i will, but mine works fine with the older version's. Ok , that works fine too. FYI, I used to recommend mach 3.43.37 for MSM in mill mode (during the MSM 1.x release days). I read somewhere in here about lathe problems and Mach , i am in the process of converting a lathe over to cnc and i am wondering what version of Mach would be the best for lathe at this point? There are lots of problems in lathe mode with mach until you get to mach 3.43.66 (MSM release notes have more info as to what the problems are). It was not until mach 3.43.66 that that there became a reasonably stable lathe release - between 3.43.22 and 3.43.66 every version of mach had a one or more different lathe mode bugs in it - so for lathe mode you'll want to update mach. I also saw that you are working on a lathe program is this true? Thank's Dusty The MSM 2.0.x series has the MSM lathe support; this is also when the mill-turn abilities were introduced (the ability to do turning on a mill). Dave

Thank's Dave ,sorry it took me some time to back to you. I am going to install it on the new PC for the lathe and i will test it out sounds wonderful.
I am wondering if we will see a new version of Mach ,say 4 in the near future or not?
