Hi,
I have tried several times to complete a proxy activation. The files transfer to the thumb drive - the utility installs on the proxy PC, but when I run the proxy activation request I get the following error:
Server activation failed Return value 2 WINSOCK CANNOT RESOLVE HOST
Windows XP Mach R3.043.037 MSM Version 1.1.11
Any advice on where I am going wrong

Hi, This is a message from the network layers of the operating system. It's saying that the program (in this case the proxy activation utility) tried to connect to a host by specifying the name of the host. Normally names are converted to network IP addresses by the Domain Name Service (DNS) - it appears that the system was unable to convert the name to an address. Typical causes for this are: 1) the PC does not have a working network connection (ethernet cable unplugged etc). 2) a firewall that is blocking network DNS connections (turn off the firewall) 3) a anti-virus program can cause this to be blocked (disable AV program while running the proxy utility) 4) DNS is just not working for some reason (can you get to a web site by name? say www.google.com in a browser?
