Hi, I'm traveling today & won't be able to look this up until very late today or tomorrow.
This probably ndicates an error an internal error on thr tool table info. Have there been any atempts to edit the tool table directly (i.e. not via msm) ?
Dave

Had time between flights to take a quick look - When this happens, the tool entry that was corrupted should then get reset to default values - so I'd like to know if this message happens more than once? Since you posted this in general discussion, instead of one of the main support forums, I can't assume anything about what you are running. Please tell me the basic info requested in this announcement thread: calypsoventures.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=msmsupport&thread=103&page=1Dave

Hi Dave, Have read what you said about importance of communicating all information relative to problem, so here is my info: Running MSM Pro on trial version, not yet sure what computer to load licenced version onto. 1) Windows 7 64bit (Runs on 32bit) 2) Using Mill version 3) Mach3 Version R3.43.062 4) Running above on laptop to get accustomed with MSM Pro before applying it into production for now. ( No Printer Port) 5) Tried a few times to input various tool numbers in MDI to no avail. 6) No plugins to my knowledge. Dave !!!!! Just tried M6 T1 & "IT WORKED ! " Then I tried T1 M6 "IT WORKED ! " This has me baffled ?? So whatever was causing problem has cleared but with no changes that I know of, Strange ? Arthur.

Dave,
I just remembered that I had to go through this procedure again:
Go to Settings/Utilities/ etc., but I could not get it to accept file address. I went through procedure again but this time I copied the file " C:\WINDOWS\system32\notepad.exe " & then pasted it back & it was accepted with no problem.
Do you think this could have been the problem ?
Arthur.

Hi, Running MSM Pro on trial version, not yet sure what computer to load licenced version onto. Don't fret over this too much - FYI, you can always move an activated copy of MSM from one PC to another whenever you want. Dave !!!!! Just tried M6 T1 & "IT WORKED ! " Then I tried T1 M6 "IT WORKED ! " This has me baffled ?? So whatever was causing problem has cleared but with no changes that I know of, Strange ? Arthur. This is what I'd have expected. The error msg only happens when some special extra info that MSM stores in the description field of a tool table entry get corrupted. The MSM code detects the condition, says something, then corrects the corrupted info. That's why I asked if the was happening once or more than once - as I expected the corrupted data to get repaired. In any case, I'm glad it's working ok now for you. Dave

Do you think this could have been the problem ? Arthur. I'd not think that had anything to do with the other issue. The non-gcode editor is used whenever you ask MSM/mach to open a file that is not a gcode file. This is not related to the tool table message. Dave
