Hello,
I'm having a problem running a g code file through MSM. Last night I loaded a program, loaded my master tool, set the part offset, and then pressed cycle start. The machine proceded to slam the tool into the part. I tried it a couple times, raising the Z offset 3-4" above the part with the same result.
I have played with ATLO through the MDI and it seems to work fine, so I'm pretty sure there is a problem with the g code. I'm using SheetCam with the Mach3 3d postprocessor.
Here is the beginning of the code:
N0000 (Filename: EB48 Shock Wrench Drill.tap) N0010 (Post processor: Mach3.scpost) N0020 (Date:2/12/2013 Time:9:50:56 PM) N0030 G20 (Units: Inches) N0040 G40 G90 G91.1 N0050 F1 N0060 (Part: EB48 Shock Wrench) N0070 (Operation: Drill, Drill, T100: Drill, 0.125 in diameter, 0.06 in Deep) N0080 S4000 G00 Z1.0000 N0090 X1.6000 Y1.0000 N0100 (Drill, 0.125 in diameter) N0110 T100 M06 G43 H100 N0120 G00 Z0.1250 N0130 S4000 M03 N0140 X0.3500 Y0.2500
Should I remove the G43 and H commands?
Thanks,
Chris

I'd bet that line N0110 is issue. Change that line from T100 M06 G43 H100 into two separate lines - T100 M06 G43 H100
The single line gcode is technically correct, but it hits a known mach bug that has existed since at least May 2011 and has not been fixed. See MSM release notes item 4.27 for more info.
If this fixes the problem (as I suspect it will), then go edit the Sheetcam post to issue the tool change as two separate lines and you'll be all set.
Dave
P.S. While you're here and thinking about MSM etc, please see the "packing for a move" announcement thread.

Thanks Dave.
I edited the postprocessor file for SheetCam. I'll give it a shot tonight.

You're the man Dave! I ran a new part last night with the updated post and everything worked as advertised.
BTW: my 9 yo son asked me if I was running new software because it "looked cooler". :^)
