Hi John, Error message "Probe can't be master: MT# set=0 Remains in the error message field. Does not seem to affect operation but overlays other error messages, making debugging difficult. Any suggestions. The message will occur whenever the MT# = the PT#. For various reasons, that condition is not allowed with MSM lathe mode. To resolve the issue, MSM resets the lathe master tool to T#0. I could not figure out what you mean by "it remains" until I checked this combination: If the probe tool = 0 (which is a default if you have never set up the probe tool DRO - which is something you'd only do for mill-turn), and the master tool = 0, then the condition test is triggered and MSM tries to set the master tool = 0 to resolve the issue... but the probe tool = 0 and around and around we go... To solve the problem right now, here is a work around: 1) set the master tool # to any value other than 0 (you don't want to use 0 which is not a physical tool as the master anyhow). The error message will stop regenerating itself. 2) load the mill-turn screens, go to the probing page and set the probe tool # to > 99. That will get the probe tool number out of the lathe # space (since lathe tools can only be 2 digits). 3) go back to the lathe only screens. Problem should now be solved. In the mean time, I'll think about how to make the MT=PT test a bit smarter to avoid this catch-22. Dave

Dave 18 minutes. You're slowing down in your old age Appreciate the speedy response. I'm just now begining to spend a significant amount of time on the lathe. Despite only having 2 axis, in some ways its more tricky to program. Thanks, John
